a fresh blog

When I first started this blog, my attempt was to share my voyages and experiences with my friends and family who are scattered all over the world... Facebook has now taken care of that for me and as such, I haven't used this blog in almost two years.

From a fresh perspective, I have decided to change the reasoning of this blog to be about how disrespectful we have all became, myself included. I am a pretty standard human being. I have a middle income position at my work with a sub-standard income, I have a cat, a fiance and a baby on the way.

My first point of disrespect is that some people are so lazy or consumed in their own lives that they cannot shovel the sidewalks on their property. It is everyone's civil duty to keep the sidewalks clean and if you are not able, then you should have someone hired who can do so. I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where we quite frequently get snow and people should be able to walk by your home without hitting pavement. Particularly small children and women who are six months pregnant.

Clean your sidewalks!!

a st. patrick's day snowstorm

for most of the past few weeks, our daytime highs have been above zero.. even yesterday was a balmy 8 degrees outside and all of our snow had disappeared and La Ronge became it's usual mudpit.

as I had to work night shift on st. patrick's day, I put myself to bed around 7pm and it was still warm and raining out... a few five hours later, this is what I walked to work in.. I'm pretty sure some of the drifts in the parking lot are now over a foot deep.

March came in like a lamb, climaxed as a lion, and probably out like a bitch...

Yay La Ronge!

Ice Wolves on the Win!

Our darling Junior A team here, the La Ronge Ice Wolves, finished 3rd in the regular season and beat the 4th place team, the Humboldt Broncos, to go up against the 1st place team in the division, the Flin Flon Bombers.. who we CREAMED Sunday night!!!

Our fans started a tradition during the Humboldt series, that when we score a goal, we throw a fish out onto the ice.. this originates from Mafia times when people who found a dead fish on their doorstep soon found themselves dead. The team has embraced it by bringing their own cooler to keep behind the bench and bbq's up the fish after every win!

Friday, our next series against the North Battleford North Stars begins in North Battleford. We will see Mr. Pearson and his team in La Ronge on Tuesday!!! May the winning continue!
